Free webinar - Optimize your pumps maintenance budget
Pumps & Systems offers a free webinar on optimizing your pumps maintenance budget, where you can learn which equipment to target, what information to collect and how to use it effectively. It will take place on Thursday, October 11, 2012, 1 p.m. EST.
About the webinar: A recent poll by Pumps & Systems showed that maintenance and energy efficiency are by far the top two concerns of plant managers and process engineers. Unplanned repairs can be 10 times as costly as scheduled maintenance - but if plants spend too much time and effort to avoid them, the costs can outweigh the benefits.
Dan Kernan, Manager of Monitoring and Control for ITT Industrial Process, will explain how organizations can optimize their maintenance programs to mitigate risks and minimize costs. He will describe best practices for implementing a variety of pump maintenance strategies—including which equipment to target, what information to collect and how to use it effectively.
Supported by case studies from multiple industries, Kernan will give attendees actionable advice that they can use to understand and improve the bottom-line benefits of their total investment in pumping systems.

The Efficiency Tango: A Deeper Look at Geothermal Heat Pump Efficiency
From RenewableEnergyWorld.com: A couple weeks ago, I compared the efficiency of the two most advanced geothermal heat pumps (GHPs) recently launched by Waterfurnace Renewable Energy (TSX:WFI, OTC:WFIFF) and Climatemaster, as division of LSB Industries (NYSE:LXU). Like most things in life, it turns out that heat pump efficiency is a lot more complicated than just comparing a couple numbers. To read the full article please click on the link below:

Energy Efficiency to Emerge as Key Purchase Criterion for Pumps in the Oil and Gas Industry
From PR Newswire: The oil and gas industry in Europe has been through economic vagaries in the last 10 years with financing difficulties and low oil prices resulting in several projects being either postponed or abandoned altogether. This, in turn, has affected the uptake of pumps by the industry. Nevertheless, demand for pumps is set to grow steadily as projects gradually start being revived. New analysis from Frost & Sullivan (http://www.industrialautomation.frost.com), European Pumps Market in the Oil and Gas Industry, finds that the market earned revenues of euro 1,346.78 million in 2010 and estimates this to reach euro 1,483.19 million in 2015. The research covers centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
