Colonial Commercial Corp. Subsidiary Appointed Distributor of GeoStar Geothermal Heat Pumps

From Business Wire: Colonial Commercial Corp. (“Colonial”) (OTC Bulletin Board: “CCOM,” “CCOMP”) today announced that its Universal Supply Group, Inc. (“Universal”) subsidiary has been appointed as a GeoStar distributor for New Jersey and portions of New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut. GeoStar is a division of WaterFurnace Renewable Energy, a manufacturer of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional geothermal and water source heat pumps.

Geothermal units are similar to ordinary heat pumps, but use energy stored just below ground-level to provide heating, air conditioning and hot water. In the winter, heat is brought in through a loop, concentrated, and then delivered throughout the home to utilize that stored energy. During summer, excess heat in the home is removed and put back into the earth. Because geothermal units use the earth’s natural heat, they are among the most efficient and comfortable heating and cooling technologies currently available.

FPI Pumps, Inc. Provides All Stainless Steel Axial Flow Propeller Pumps in Four Weeks

From ThomasNet: When the flood control pumps in the City of Fort Lauderdale's S-2 storm water pumping station needed to be replaced, city maintenance supervisor Greg Duty knew that FPI Pumps, Inc., an Axial Flow Propeller Pump manufacturer based in Pompano Beach, was the company he could count on.

Three of the City's flood control pumps, built by a competitor, needed to be replaced. Mr. Duty was already familiar with the quality of FPI's pumps, through previous units the company had supplied to the city. However, Mr. Duty now had a need for pumps that could be built quickly for a critical flood control zone in the popular, trendy New River area of the city. Additionally, the specification called for Stainless Steel construction throughout, due to the brackish (fresh water/sea water) mix the pump would see.
