Sauer-Danfoss slows production of pumps

The global economy's slowdown is also influencing pumps manufactures, as you can see from the following report of LJWorld.com about Sauer-Danfoss:

Sauer-Danfoss Inc. is reducing shifts for about a third of its employees in the East Hills Business Park, as one of the plant’s customers is shutting down temporarily for the month of January.
Jamie Bryant, plant manager at Sauer-Danfoss, said that the reduced shifts would affect about 50 of the plant’s 150 employees. The workers make hydraulic pumps for heavy-duty equipment.

Sauer-Danfoss is making the moves in response to the operational shifts of its customer, which is shutting down its own production for the entire month of January, Bryant said.

Hydraulic Submersible Pumps

A release of Griffin Dewatering Corp. from ThomasNet: When determining a pump for an application, there are a number of factors to consider. Among them are flow requirements, head conditions, suction requirements, and dimensional limitations.

Hydraulic submersible pumps are an option and give the added benefit of run dry capability, especially when electric powered pumps are of concern due to potential electrical hazards or other reasons, or diesel driven centrifugal pumps are not an option due to suction lift restraints. Hydraulic submersible pumps are very versatile and can fit in a number of applications.
