Gas-Lubricated Seals ensure stable pump operation

From ThomasNet: Bi-directional double Cartex® GSDN gas seals can be installed to standardize new centrifugal pumps at chemical plants and refineries or recondition existing pumps. Using HR principle as characteristic design feature, seals produce self-cleaning effect that prevents contamination and increases operational reliability.

Width of sliding faces ensure gas film stability, while silicon carbide face materials and DLC coating ensure optimal performance in continuous operation.

Impressions of the Test Run Multiphase Pump MW 11 and Twin-Screw Pump HC 370

Last June Bornemann Pumps (represented in Israel by Berlin Technologies) presented two test runs for the MW 11 and the HC 370 on the same day. The Twin-Screw Pump HC 370 is the largest standard twin-screw pump ever built.

The test took place on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at their premises in Obernkirchen/Germany. Here are more details from Bornemann's website:

As you know, the increasing need for combustible fuels calls for continuous change within the Oil & Gas industry. Ultimately, this will reflect in the need for better and improved technologies that are being implemented in the field.

To this end, as a leader in the oil and gas industry, Bornemann continues to innovate itself and it’s line of products. As result of this constant innovation, Bornemann developed for one of his major clients the largest pump system ever built for Multiphase Pumping. As part of Bornemann standards, the pump must be tested.
