Limpopo water pumps 'hot' property

iafrica.com brings the following news from South Africa: criminals have stolen more than ten water pumps, costing about R50 000 each, in Limpopo's Greater Sekhukhune region, the district municipality said on Friday.

Independent Online adds that Spokesperson Sizwe Nyende said the machines had been stolen this year."If you steal these machines you inconvenience a lot of people because they are very difficult to replace. The machines are huge and provide water from dams for a number of villages."

He said it was possible that the machines were stolen and sold, but were also convenient for personal use.

He pleaded with local communities to be co-operative and report the theft because it was pulling the district backwards.

Yours,
