AP reported that water officials say pumps to augment Reno, NV drinking water supplies after an earthquake damaged a water flume should be operating by the weekend.
According to Paul Miller, operations and water quality manager for the Truckee Meadows Water Authority, the 12 diesel-powered pumps should be able to move up to 40 million gallons per day from the Orr Ditch to the Chalk Bluff water treatment plant.
