Franklin Electric Announces the Acquisition of Vertical S.P.a., Vicenza, Italy

Finance: Franklin Electric Co., Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of submersible electric motors and a leading supplier of water pumping and fuel pumping systems, announced that it has completed the acquisition of seventy-five percent of the outstanding shares of Vertical S.p.A. ("Vertical"), for cash.

Franklin Electric expects the transaction to be accretive to its earnings per share in 2009. Vertical, headquartered in Dueville (Vicenza - Italy), had 2008 net revenues of approximately 20 million Euros.

Grundfos Pumps and SunPower Dedicate 1.1 Megawatt Solar Power System

From Yahoo! Finance: Grundfos Pumps Corporation and SunPower Corporation dedicated last Thursday a 1.1 megawatt solar power system at the Grundfos facility in Fresno.

The system features a ground-mounted, high-efficiency SunPower sun tracking system on a 7.5-acre site. It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions generated at the site by almost 2.4 million pounds annually, which is the equivalent to removing close to 200 cars from California's highways each year.

Colfax Corp. expects slow sales growth

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch: Colfax Corp., the Richmond-based maker of industrial pumps and valves, today said sales for 2009 are expected to slow significantly.

The company said organic sales growth for 2008 is expected to be end up at about 14 percent, in line with the company's low double-digit organic growth expectation for the year.For 2009, the company anticipates organic sales growth will be in the range of 1 percent to 3 percent.
