Research and Markets: China's Centrifugal Pump Market to Continue Growing

From Business Wire: Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Assessment of China's Market for Centrifugal Pumps" report to their offering. China's Centrifugal Pump Market Valued at RMB 29 Bn - Product Segments Influenced by Construction and City Planning Investments.

China's centrifugal pump market in China is worth approximately RMB 30 Bn as of year-end 2011, according to a recent report by GCiS China Strategic Research.The growth of low pressure centrifugal pump sales is surging at 15%, while the high pressure market is experiencing a more modest 5%. This is due to heavy levels of sustained investment on water projects nation wide by the PRC government.

Flowserve Announces Multimillion-Dollar Valve Orders from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. and China Nuclear Energy Industry Corp.

From Flowserve: Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS), a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, today announced two multimillion-dollar orders from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. Ltd. (CNPE) and China Nuclear Energy Industry Corp. (CNEIC) for main steam isolation valves (MSIVs).

The Flowserve Edward MSIVs are planned to be used at the CPR-1000 design Fuqing Units 3 and 4, and Tianwan Units 5 and 6. All four units are currently under construction and scheduled to be operational in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Flowserve booked the orders in the third quarter of 2010.

Food processing growth in China prompts Alfa Laval acquisition

From FoodProdDaily: The Sweden-based company announced Friday it had bought a 65 per cent share in Si Fang Stainless Steel Products Co, which targets a wide range of segments in China’s food and beverage market. The firm specialises in sanitary products such as pumps, valves and fittings. Last year it posted sales of around SEK150m (€15.5m) and has 300 employees.

No financial details were disclosed about the deal which was finalised on 1 April. Alfa Laval said while its majority stake gave the opportunity for investment it was still too early to say if, or when, further cash would be pumped into the Chinese acquisition.

Flowserve wins major pump contract for nuclear power Plants in China

Yahoo! Finance reported this week that Flowserve Corporation, a leading global provider of fluid motion and control products and services (which we wrote about last november), has been selected to provide the China Nuclear Power Engineer Co., Ltd. with concrete volute pumps for the first phases of both the Hongyanhe and Ningde Nuclear Power Plant projects. The order is estimated to be between $25 and $30 million (USD).
